This is the perfect starting place for those who are either just starting on their statistical science journey or for those who have undertaken an introductory course at university (possibly many years ago) and need a refresher on some of the core concepts in statistical science. The course is very gentle and requires no mathematical or statistical skills. At the end of this course you will:
- understand key concepts such as levels of measurement, populations and samples, exploratory data analysis, statistical inference;
- have a high-level appreciation of the distinction between Bayesian and Frequentist statistics;
- have an appreciation for the role of a sample and sample variation in (Frequentist) statistical inference;
- know when to use ordinary letters and greek symbols in statistical reports.
